Here’s a setup to control a servo motor with your mind. [Danny Bertner] made this project happen by interfacing a MindWave headset with an Arduino. You might wonder what’s the big deal about that since we’ve covered quite a few mind control hacks that work this way? So far, the majority of those hacks used the Mindflex toy (to be fair there were several using the Force Trainer as well), which depends on a chip made by the company that is responsible for the MindWave. Both the Mindflex and the Force Trainer were reverse engineered to access the stream of data coming in from the EEG sensors. But NeuroSky is embracing the urge to mess with their products by offering developer tools.
[Danny] took advantage of these resources, using the comany’s own guide to interfacing with an Arduino (PDF). The quick clip after the break shows his finished project, grabbing data from the USB dongle that comes with the headset, converting it to the necessary levels for the Arduino, then processing the signals for display on and LED bar graph.
We can’t help but chuckle about the warranty-voiding disclaimer at the top of the PDF guide.

Iphone not sending text. The Messages app on my Macbook Pro (running High Sierra) suddenly stopped sending text messages to Android devices. I can still send texts to Android users from my iPhone without a problem, but when sending texts from the Messages app on my Macbook Pro it will not send to Android devices. It just started doing this out of the blue yesterday. Nov 11, 2018 Using the Messages app on the Mac, you can easily send and/or receive SMS text messages (normal text messages) and iMessages (Apple’s messaging service). Open the Messages App on your Mac by clicking on the Messages icon in the Taskbar. Leave the Messages App open on your Mac (required to receive a security code) and get back to your iPhone to complete the following steps. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Jul 24, 2011 One question – I am trying to use the software with a MyndPlay BrainBand, which uses the Neurosky hardware. I am able to connect to the BrainBand with ThinkGearConnector, can see the real-time EEG data (via JSON), but no joy trying to save the CSV file. Have tried on both PC and Mac, seems to work but the file is not generated. 1) Is the written Neurosky source module tested on the Neurosky Mindwave or only on the Mindset (as stated by the Neurosky website the main difference between the mindset and the mindwave is The MindSet uses bluetooth to transmit data, and includes a bluetooth dongle for computers without a built in bluetooth receiver.
